To print offset, the pages and cover of the book are first laser burnt onto 0.3 mm metal plates.
The yellow plate is used to pass the yellow ink through the roller. Next come the magenta, cyan and black plates.
Once the plate has been engraved, it is stored by a robot in a sort of library of the different projects in progress.
When the project is ready to be printed, the plates are placed in the Heidelberg by the operator.
